The riverside resort has been offering accommodations to tourists visiting New Braunfels since the 1930s. Heidelberg Lodges offers a unique setting to visitors any time of year. Our cottages offer all the conveniences of home and are nestled under towering pecan trees, overlooking the crystal clear Comal Springs where the Comal River actually begins.

The Heidelberg Lodges are A-Frame Cottages in six floor plans to accommodate all size families year-around.

    One private bedroom with king bed. One semi-private w/queen bed, kitchen and dining area, lounging area - all lower level.
  • Rock House • Occupancy 10 people max.
    One bedroom w/two twin beds, one bedroom w/2 full size beds, one bedroom w/king bed, kitchen large living room and dining room
  • White House • Occupancy 8 people max.
    Full Size House: One private bedroom w/king bed, one private bedroom w/queen bed, large living w/two twin beds and sofa sleeper, kitchen, dining room.

Bed linen and bath towels are furnished. Towels may be exchanged at the office.

2021 Update: Pots & Pans, Utensils or Serve ware will not be available.

Kitchenettes are equipped with stove tops (no ovens), refrigerators, toasters, coffeemakers and microwaves.

  • No dishes or silverware are provided.
  • Cottages DO NOT have telephones
  • BBQ grills on premises
  • Bring your own river and swim towels.

Pets are NOT allowed.

Service Animals under the ADA are ONLY permitted. Any outside PETS NOT under the ADA will be asked to leave OR Animal authorities will be called.

Anyone caught with a pet will be asked to leave the facilities and will not receive a refund of deposit or room stay.

We recommend bringing River Shoes as you should NEVER go barefoot in the river. Please bring Life Jackets for non-swimmers.

As a note, please bring towels for the pool and river.

A PARKING TAG for ALL vehicles is required. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed at the owner's expense

Maid service is not provided, may be requested for a nominal fee. Please contact the office.

The Heidelberg Lodges cancellation policy states if you cancel 30 days prior to your reservation date - you will Receive a Full refund. If you cancel within 30 days of your reservation - No refunds will be given.

Summer Season

RESERVATIONS: A minimum length of stay is required as follows for advanced reservations. Summer, Memorial and Labor Days – 3 nights, 4th of July – 5 nights and Wurstfest – 2 nights. Blocked number of nights may not be cancelled. Stays of five nights or more may be reserved by cottage number. If less than 5 nights, reservations by section only. A 3-night minimum is required during summer season. You may Check In or Check Out on Saturday during the summer season.

Off-Season

OFF SEASON RATES: will be in effect October through April. EXCLUDING WURSTFEST, ALL RECREATION FACILITIES ARE CLOSED DURING THE WINTER SEASON. WEEKLY AND MONTHLY RENTALS ARE ALSO AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

SMOKING POLICY

Heidelberg Lodges is a NON-SMOKING FACILITY. Smokers are asked to please smoke outside the cottages. Anyone smoking inside the cottages will be charged a minimum of $250 and asked to leave. New Braunfels prohibits smoking inside any public place (except a bar) by City Ordinance.

CAMPING

Camping or staying in a recreational vehicle is prohibited by city ordinance.

The Comal River is the shortest navigable river in the state of Texas in the United States. Proclaimed the "longest shortest river in the world" by locals, it runs entirely within the city limits of New Braunfels in southeast Comal County. It is a tributary of the Guadalupe River.
